Fort Loudoun Medical Center Nurses Honored for Clinical Excellence

Four nurses recognized for exceptional care and compassion.

Four Fort Loudoun Medical Center nurses were recipients of the 2023 East Tennessee Nursing Excellence Awards. The award recognizes exceptional patient care and the compassion registered nurses regularly give their patients in areas throughout the hospital. These nurses were nominated by their coworkers and chosen by a panel of leaders in the Tennessee chapter of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.

The Fort Loudoun Medical Center recipients of the award were:

  • Ben Curtis, RN, surgery
  • Amanda Llumbet, RN, emergency room
  • Joyce Sayers, RN, surgery
  • Kendall Swift, RN, medical-surgical unit

“I was not surprised to have not one, but four nurses selected as recipients of the East Tennessee Nurse Excellence Awards. Our small community hospital does some amazing things, and Ben, Amanda, Joyce and Kendall are no exception,” said Suzanne Miller, chief nursing officer at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. “We are truly blessed to have a strong group of passionate, dedicated nurses. These four truly represent what our pledge is about: putting patients first and giving them excellent care. It is such an honor to work with this stellar group of individuals, and I am so proud to have them represent the work and care at Fort Loudoun.”

These recipients make a positive difference in patient outcomes, participate in activities and practice sessions to improve the patient experience, exhibit improvement efforts, encourage teamwork, and demonstrate personal growth in their practice.

Congratulations to these recipients and thank you for your commitment to excellence and our patients!
