After the Race

Covenant Health Therapy Centers offer post-race injury clinics at no cost to participants. Take your race bib and photo ID to locations at Fort Sanders West and the Newland Professional Building on April 4, between 3 p.m. an 5 p.m., and check the links below for more details.

A Great Event, A Great Purpose

From the inaugural marathon in 2005 to today, Covenant Health’s sports medicine specialists, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, and fitness professionals help thousands of runners and walkers train and prepare for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. Our hope is that the marathon will increase community awareness of the many benefits of regular exercise and motivate people to pursue more active and healthier lifestyles.

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon includes a 26.2-mile marathon, 13.1-mile half marathon, four-person marathon relay, two-person marathon relay, 5K run and one-mile fun run for children age 12 and younger.

The Covenant Kids Run is more than just a race day event. It’s a whole program that encourages kids to log mileage, completing the equivalent of a 26.2-mile marathon in three months’ time. Learn more about the Covenant Kids Run by clicking here.

Proceeds from the marathon benefit the Knoxville Track Club youth athletic program as well as Covenant Health’s Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center Innovative Recreation Cooperative (IRC), which encourages people with disabilities to pursue leisure and sports activities including handcycling, which is one of the race events in the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon.
