Covenant Health and Covenant Medical Group welcome Jeffrey (Jeff) W. Robinson, MD, to one of its primary care practices. Southern Medical Group is a primary care provider with locations in West Knoxville and South Knoxville. Dr. Robinson is an internal medicine specialist who is now accepting new patients ages 18 and up at both locations.
Dr. Robinson earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Arizona State University and his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.
His clinical interests include helping people manage their diabetes, infectious disease prevention and overall preventive health. He says, “Preventive care and personal health responsibilities are keystones in my healthcare philosophy. I am empathetic and value helping all patients through healthcare challenges.”
When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys traveling and experiencing other cultures. He works with Young Life and Young Life Africa in his spare time, and he enjoys carpentry, hiking, tennis, gardening and following Formula 1 racing.
Dr. Robinson says, “Two people who inspired me to become a physician are my mother and her internist. My mother had a congenital kidney disease and I spent many hours in hospitals during my childhood. Despite being advised not to have children, she defied the odds and had three. Her internist played a pivotal role in her care, walking alongside her to extend and improve the quality of her life. He was a key role model for me throughout my childhood leading me to pursue medicine.”
