Claiborne Medical Center Receives Assistance from Tennessee National Guard

(Tazewell, TN) – Claiborne Medical Center, a member hospital of Covenant Health, welcomed five administrative staff from the Tennessee National Guard COVID Taskforce on Monday Sept. 20, 2021. The state of Tennessee is offering National Guard assistance for hospitals experiencing increases in overall volumes and staffing challenges, due in large part to the number of COVID-19 patients being hospitalized. Claiborne Medical Center recently reached out to request placement.

“We are very thankful to the Tennessee National Guard for providing this additional support to our facility,” said Patti Ketterman, president and chief administrative officer for the hospital. “This is a critical time for hospitals all across our state and country, and we are imploring citizens who have not yet had the COVID vaccine to please get one as soon as possible.”

COVID-19 cases have continued to rise in the Claiborne area. A daily update of Claiborne Medical Center’s COVID-19 hospitalizations is posted on Covenant Health’s website in dashboard format and is updated weekdays at noon. The dashboard can be accessed with daily updates Monday through Friday. The web page also includes numbers from all the Covenant Health member hospitals.
