Cardiac rehabilitation is vital to successful outcomes after a heart attack or cardiac surgical intervention. In fact, patients who attend 36 sessions of a cardiac rehabilitation program of comprehensive exercise, education, and behavior modification have a 47 percent lower risk of death and heart attack than those who attend only one session1.
Research also shows that geographic proximity from the patient’s home to the program is essential for increased patient enrollment2. That’s why Covenant Health offers comprehensive Phase II and III cardiac rehabilitation programs at each of our acute care hospitals across East Tennessee. As a result, patients can receive comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation care at the Covenant Health hospital in their community.
