Claiborne Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission, recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality and commitment to meeting certain performance standards. We are a member of Covenant Health, an integrated healthcare delivery system headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Its services include acute care hospitals, outpatient facilities, behavioral health, physician clinics, and home care.
Our stroke program at Claiborne Medical Center is certified by The Joint Commission as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. Our various certifications, recognitions, and accreditation represent a tradition of excellence in healthcare and continued dedication to providing quality care to our community.
Tobacco-Free Environment
Claiborne Medical Center is a tobacco-free environment. As a healthcare provider, we are responsible for providing a safe, smoke and tobacco-free environment for our patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff. Vaping and e-cigarettes are also prohibited.
Billing and Customer Services
Our patient accounting department is ready to help you with any questions or concerns you may have about your account. Please call 423-526-2327 Monday – Friday if you have questions about insurance, your hospital bill, or applying for financial assistance.
Covenant Health is committed to providing quality health services in a caring environment. It is the expressed philosophy of Covenant Health and its member hospitals, including Claiborne Medical Center, that no one should be denied necessary medical care because of the inability to pay. In conjunction with this philosophy, if you are an uninsured person with no public or private source of payment for medical services, Claiborne Medical Center will provide, at a reduced rate, medically indicated services.
Dining
The cafeteria at Claiborne Medical Center offers a variety of hot and cold menu items Monday through Friday 7 a.m.- 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Vending machines are located in the cafeteria and in the Emergency waiting area.
Gift Shop
Located in the front lobby of the hospital, the gift shop offers a wide selection of personal hygiene items, greeting cards, snack and drink items, and a variety of gift items. Gift Shop hours are Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. – Noon and additional afternoons as volunteers are available.
Medical Records
We cannot respond to medical records requests submitted via this website. Currently, we are not allowing visitors to our medical records department. If you need a copy of your medical records, please contact our Health Information Management office at 423-526-2246 and schedule a time that they can bring a copy of your medical records to you in our hospital front lobby.

Security Services
As are all hospitals, Claiborne Medical Center is a public place. Please take precautions to safeguard your valuables while you are here. The hospital cannot be held responsible for the loss of money or other valuables kept in your room.
Please do not bring valuables with you to the hospital. If possible, send them home with a family member or check your valuables with the nursing house supervisor before or immediately upon going to your room. Your nursing staff can arrange to have valuables checked for you. Eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, and dentures should be kept in protective containers when not in use. Please do not wrap in tissue, paper towels, or pieces of hospital linen.
Claiborne Medical Center provides security services 24 hours a day. You are encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activity to security as soon as possible. Claiborne Medical Center’s security office is located on the main level of the hospital and can be reached by calling 423-526-2309.
Visitation Policy
Claiborne Medical Center’s primary concern is for the welfare and speedy recovery of our patients. With COVID-19, there have been changes to our visitation policy. If you have any questions about our visitation policy, please call 423-626-4211 before you visit. We ask that guests respect the scheduled times set for visitation.

For your convenience, high-speed wireless Internet access is available throughout Claiborne Medical Center.
Your user device should automatically detect our Wi-Fi when the device scans for wireless networks. To use our Wi-Fi, connect to the “Covenantguest” network. The password is “covenant.”
