Becker’s Hospital Review, a national publication focusing on hospital business news for healthcare executives, characterizes community hospitals as primarily acute-care facilities that function to bridge the gaps in healthcare. Hospital CEOs recognized on the list are “committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective care tailored to the needs of their local communities.” They are also responsible for expanding care offerings, growing service lines, directing long-term strategies and maintaining financial stability.

Roane Medical Center offers a range of services, including stroke care, critical care, therapy and rehabilitation services, cardiac care and sleep disorder treatment. Pilant oversees hospital operations and business planning, as well as serving on the Covenant Health senior leadership team. His focus on creating a “patient first” culture has led to improvements in patient safety and the establishment of best safety practices. He also works with local community groups and leaders to promote the healthcare services and other health resources available at the hospital.

Two other Covenant Health leaders, Gordon Lintz president and chief administrative officer of Claiborne Medical Center and Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, and Connie Martin, president and chief administrative officer of Fort Loudoun Medical Center, were also named to the list.
