“Accepting the chief information officer role is deeply meaningful to me. Having served this organization for many years, I have a strong connection to our mission and to the dedicated individuals who live it each day,” said Cross. “I am committed to modernizing our technology platforms to better support our clinical and operational performance while expanding digital solutions that meet the evolving needs of our healthcare consumers.”

In her role as vice president of clinical informatics, Cross had responsibilities for informatics and information technology across ambulatory, diagnostic services, revenue cycle and corporate applications for the health system. She has worked on impactful systemwide projects that benefit both patients and staff, including the successful eCare implementation, expanding virtual care services, deploying ambient listening technology and online scheduling to enhance patient access. Together with her leadership team, she has driven strategic planning and innovative technologies that elevate digital health, operational efficiency and overall patient experience.

“Tiffany’s achievements in her tenure with Covenant Health made her a natural fit for the chief information officer role,” said Joe Dolan, executive vice president and chief financial officer for Covenant Health. “She is dedicated to our mission and committed to utilizing advanced technologies for the benefit of our patients, staff and community. I look forward to our enterprise’s continuing evolvement under her leadership as we continue to implement digital solutions to better the health of our communities.”

“Tiffany is an outstanding leader, and I’m excited for her to guide Covenant Health through the next phase of technology advancement,” said Jim VanderSteeg, president and chief executive officer of Covenant Health.

Prior to her role as vice president of clinical informatics, Cross served in various clinical informatics leadership roles in the health system. In these positions, she led successful initiatives like the rollout of Virtual Urgent Care and the adoption of new technology for patient appointment reminders.

Cross is an active member in the College of Health Information Management Executives and Health Information and Management Systems Society. She earned her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, as well as bachelor’s degrees in ecology and evolutionary biology and clinical laboratory science.
