Tom Thompson, MD

Dr. Tom C. Thompson is a board certified general surgeon with Surgical Associates of East Tennessee in Morristown, Tennessee. With more than 30 years of medical experience, Dr. Thompson specializes in breast cancer surgery and the treatment of benign breast conditions.

Dr. Thompson is deeply committed to patient education and shared decision making. “Seeing the tremendous progress that can be made in survival and decreasing recurrence motivated me to do what I do,” he says. “I enjoy helping guide my patients through the decision-making process.”

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Thompson enjoys farm work, continuing a family legacy as the sixth generation to live and work on his farm. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching The University of Tennessee and Baylor athletics.
