Limb Salvage Program at Covenant Health Parkwest
The Limb Salvage program at Covenant Health Parkwest is a multidisciplinary program designed to identify and treat conditions that threaten a limb to prevent amputation. The goal is to preserve the limb’s function and appearance by addressing the underlying cause of the threat, such as disease, infection, or injury.
Our team’s goal is to provide convenient, comprehensive care patients, by assuring that care is scheduled in a timely manner, and with the appropriate provider.

Ideal Patients for Limb Salvage
- Suspicion of Chronic limb-threatening ischemia
- Abnormal ABI/Monophasic Waveforms
- Tissue loss and/or resting pain
- Peripheral Artery Disease
- Chronic leg cramps when walking
- Non-healing or acute vascular diabetic wounds
Did You Know?
Up to 10% of patients with peripheral artery disease may progress to Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia (CLTI), and up to 25% of these patients will ultimately go on to have a major lower extremity amputation. The cornerstone of treatment for CLTI is lower extremity revascularization, via either a percutaneous or surgical approach.
