Intensive Care Unit
Cumberland Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit is equipped with 12 monitored beds and has the capability of performing various procedures at bedside. The skilled medical staff includes a critical care specialist as well as highly qualified nursing staff. The unit also features newly renovated visitor’s waiting room and patient ICU rooms.
Patients in intensive care areas are very ill and have an increased need for rest; therefore, we have restricted visitation hours. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted. Please be sure to always wash your hands upon entering and leaving the room.
The unit is equipped with Tele-ICU services as an extra layer of care for critically ill patients. Covenant Health became the first healthcare system in East Tennessee to provide this service which elevates the level of expertise available to care for patients close to home by utilizing telehealth technology to partner with bedside clinical care teams.
Please note: ICU visitation may change. In order for patients to conserve strength and receive care, we ask for visitation to be limited to no more than one visitor per patient during these visiting hours:
6 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Patients in the ICU cannot receive live flowers because the allergens can affect their recovery. Please designate one person from your family to serve as the primary point-of-contact for updates and communication about your loved one’s care. All other family and friends will be referred to the primary point-of-contact. This will enable us to provide our patient’s with the uninterrupted care that they deserve.
