Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon

Proudly serving as the title sponsor of the Knoxville Marathon since 2005

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon begins with a stunning start at the Sunsphere on the Clinch Avenue bridge and features race courses that showcase the beauty of East Tennessee in the spring.

Covenant Health is proud to serve as the title sponsor of the full marathon, half marathon, team relays, 5K and a one-mile fun run for kids. Our sponsorship reflects Covenant Health’s mission to improve the health and quality of life in East Tennessee.

Covenant Kids Run

The Covenant Kids Run is a program created to encourage children to lead healthy and active lifestyles while participating in an exciting, goal-oriented community event. Kids receive a mileage log to track their physical activity for the months leading up to race day, then run a mile with a finish in historic World’s Fair Park. Get Ready

Want to go the distance? We can help. Covenant Health offers assistance to runners (and walkers) all year.

Covenant Health Therapy Centers

In addition to physical therapy services that can help you get past aches and pains limiting your stride, Covenant Health Therapy Centers offer a runner/walker evaluation to help you train safely and effectively. The week after the race, two locations offer free post-marathon injury clinics.

Covenant Health Fitness Center

With treadmills and personal trainers, a variety of classes, aquatics and more, Covenant Health Fitness Center is an excellent way to get your marathon training on track. Members receive a fitness assessment to help establish goals and target areas where exercise can help runners and distance walkers the most.

Many people have used training for events in the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon to jumpstart weight loss efforts. Covenant Health Bariatric Services offer surgical and non-surgical options as tools to help achieve and maintain better health and wellness.

Volunteer and Cheer

Running isn’t the only way to support the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. It takes a team to make the marathon a reality. Volunteers fill a variety of important roles, and active onlookers encourage runners to keep up their speed along the course.

Run for a Cause

It’s East Tennessee’s largest competitive road race, a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, it’s a community event that showcases all that’s great about Knoxville, and a portion of the proceeds from the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon benefits the Innovative Recreation Cooperative. Based at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, IRC provides opportunities for people with physical disabilities to enjoy more active lives.

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee ValleyEach year a local charity is selected for a marathon partnership that includes a donation from the Knoxville Track Club. This year, the marathon’s charity partner is Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley (BGCTV), an organization that supports East Tennessee Children through after school programs. BGCTV is training a team for the Covenant Kids Run and we look forward to seeing them on race day, April 6!

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon is also a vehicle to support Knoxville Youth Runs (KYR), a joint program of the Community Schools Program/Great Schools Partnership and the Knoxville Track Club along with the Knox County elementary and middle schools. KYR encourages to develop a healthy lifestyle and love for the sport of running. There is no charge to students or schools who participate in the KYR program.
