A nurse at Parkwest Medical Center recently received The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the “superhuman” efforts nurses give every day.

Congratulations to Regenea, a nurse in the Emergency Department. She was nominated by a patient for the care and compassion she was shown during her visit to the ER.
Regenea’s Nomination
“I was a patient in the not so popular part of the ER. I came in with attempted suicide. I was ashamed and didn’t really want to talk to anyone. The nurse who was assigned to me was Regenea.
I told her things I told no one else in the hospital. She made me feel comfortable, calm and rested. Always coming in my room to make me smile with the bright smile she had on her face. Her demeanor was always sweet, and never did I one time feel ashamed of my thoughts or actions that I had earlier that day.
I am thankful for nurses. I am especially thankful for those who love their jobs. Regenea was made to be a nurse and made to shine. Thank you very much!”
