Seth and Logan with their DAISY Awards

We are honored to recognize Seth Turer, RN, and Logan Newman, RN, compassionate and dedicated nurses at Morristown-Hamblen, who have been selected as recipients of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This meaningful award celebrates nurses who consistently go above and beyond in delivering exceptional care to patients and their families.

The DAISY Award was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away from complications of an autoimmune disease. During his hospitalization, Patrick’s family was profoundly touched by the extraordinary compassion and clinical excellence shown by his nurses. In his memory, they established the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Seth and Logan’s Nomination

Below is the heartfelt nomination submitted by a patient:

“During my recent stay, Logan and Seth provided care that was truly exceptional. From the very start, they made me feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for. Logan served as my primary nurse, and her calm confidence immediately eased so much of my anxiety. She was thorough, attentive, and incredibly patient. Every question I had was answered with kindness, clarity, and a level of understanding that made me feel completely at ease.

Seth worked alongside her, and together they created the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. Seth has such a wonderful, upbeat personality. He was hilarious in the best possible way, bringing humor and joy into moments that could have otherwise been stressful. His ability to make me laugh, while also being thoughtful and fully engaged in my care, showed just how special he is. His personality made me feel like I was talking to someone I had known for years.

What stood out the most was how both Logan and Seth made me feel like I was part of their family. They never rushed. They never made me feel like a chore or a task. Instead, they made me feel valued, important, and truly cared for. Their teamwork and communication were seamless, and their compassion was evident in everything they did.

Their exceptional care turned a difficult experience into something far more comforting. I am deeply grateful for both of them. Logan and Seth truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award, and I will always remember how special they made me feel.”
