Covenant Health has announced that April VonAchen, current vice president of financial services and chief financial officer of Cumberland Medical Center, will join Roane Medical Center as its chief financial officer. VonAchen will continue her CFO responsibilities at Cumberland Medical Center in addition to her new role at Roane Medical Center.
In her new role, VonAchen will oversee the financial operations of the hospital, as well as registration, materials and food services. In addition to her financial duties at Cumberland Medical Center, her responsibilities include managing registration, materials, hospital-employed physicians and contracted services.
“I am honored to expand my role to the Roane Medical Center team as the chief financial officer. This opportunity is particularly meaningful to me as it allows me to return to the Roane County community that many of my family members call home. Plus, it’s just down the road from the Morgan County community that I grew up in,” said VonAchen. “I am committed to bringing my experience and skills to Roane and working alongside an already dedicated team that has a history of having an incredible culture that always puts patients first and provides excellent care to the communities it serves.”
“We are excited to welcome April to our team,” said Jason Pilant, president and chief administrative officer of Roane Medical Center. “Her expertise and familiarity with the health system will be a great asset to Roane and our community.”
VonAchen joined Cumberland Medical Center as a controller in 2014 and was named vice president of financial services and chief financial officer in 2016. Prior to working at Cumberland Medical Center, she held a variety of roles at several Covenant Health locations, including as a financial analyst, accountant and controller since joining the system in 2008.
VonAchen earned her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in healthcare administration from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a focus in accounting and human resources.
