Information for UnitedHealthcare Plan Members
Covenant Health, Covenant Medical Group and UnitedHealthcare began contract renewal discussions earlier in 2025. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach an agreement that recognizes the care that Covenant Health provides to meet our patients’ needs.
What is the result?
As of July 1, 2026, Covenant Medical Group will no longer participate with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage and commercial (employee-sponsored) health plans.
May I still visit my current provider?
You would not be able to visit your current Covenant Medical Group provider as a member of a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage or commercial health plan. Covenant Health and Covenant Medical Group remain in-network with other plans. If you wish to keep seeing your current physician in-network, you will need to choose a different managed care organization or Medicare plan that includes Covenant Health and meets your needs. If you choose to see your provider out of network, we will provide a Good Faith Estimate of your bill on the day of your appointment. Cash payments are required at the time of the appointment.
Special care needs
UnitedHealthcare patients may still seek emergency care at Covenant Health hospital emergency departments.
