Keith Altshuler is President and Chief Administrative Officer for Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, a 541-bed tertiary referral center and the only hospital serving the growing area of downtown Knoxville. He is a recognized leader among executives in healthcare management and member of American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Altshuler previously served as Senior Vice President of Covenant Health and President of Fortress Corporation. In 1987 he joined what was then Fort Sanders Health System (one of the founding organizations of Covenant Health) and served as President of Fort Sanders Enterprises, President and Chief Administrative Officer of Fort Sanders Loudon Medical Center, and Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Care Systems prior to becoming President of Fortress Corporation. His resume also includes tenure as production manager at American Trans Tech (ATT), a management engineer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, and President of Methodist Medical Center’s Home Health Services.

Altshuler earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University.

He is a licensed nursing home administrator and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Altshuler has served as a Board Member of the Tennessee Hospital Association and the Better Business Bureau of East Tennessee.
