Surgical Associates of East Tennessee Welcomes Wenjia Xu, MD
September 2025 – Covenant Health and Covenant Medical Group are pleased to welcome Wenjia Xu, MD, to Surgical Associates of East Tennessee. Dr. Xu specializes in general surgery with special interests in robotic and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery, endoscopy and wound care.
“I am excited to be a part of and serve this wonderful community,” said Dr. Xu. “I look forward to being with my patients every step along the way to help guide them through the entire treatment process.”
Dr. Xu earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He completed his bachelor’s degree in music performance before deciding to pursue medicine.
When not at work, Dr. Xu enjoys playing the violin, hiking, kayaking and bird watching.
Dr. Xu is accepting new patients.
