A smiling Dolly Parton in a white coat stands next to a large plaque with a prayer inscribed, displayed on an easel in a hallway. The woman has blonde hair and wears a name badge and stethoscope.

Covenant Health joins East Tennessee and communities around the world in remembering Dolly Parton and celebrating the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.

Dolly’s impact on Sevier County extends far beyond her name on a building. She was a longtime friend and supporter of Covenant Health who had a genuine passion for improving the health and well-being of the community she always called home. Her generosity helped make the Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services at Covenant Health LeConte a reality, creating a place where women and families can receive high-quality care close to home.

She also joined community leaders in celebrating the opening of LeConte Medical Center, reflecting her commitment to ensuring the people of Sevier County had access to exceptional healthcare.

“Dolly Parton represented the very best of East Tennessee,” said Jim VanderSteeg, president and CEO of Covenant Health. “We are honored that her name is associated with the Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services and the Dolly Parton Birthing Center at Covenant Health LeConte, where her legacy of generosity and compassion continues through the care provided to women and families every day. Her generosity improved countless lives, and her example will continue to inspire future generations to serve, give back and make a difference.”

As East Tennessee reflects on Dolly’s remarkable life, Covenant Health is honored to continue serving the community she loved and to carry forward the spirit of compassion, generosity and service that defined her legacy.
