A Legacy of Love: Covenant Health LeConte’s Dr. Richard Love Supports Generations

At Covenant Health, every story begins with care that lasts. For one Sevier County family, that care now spans generations.

Generations of Care

Baby Eloise was born on March 3, 2026, at Covenant Health LeConte. She was welcomed by the same physician who delivered her mom, Kelsey, 27 years earlier in the same community hospital.

Richard Love, MD, has been serving our community as an OB-GYN for nearly 30 years. He has built a legacy of trust, kindness and high-quality care. His work is measured not just in years, but in generations. He has delivered babies who grow up, start families of their own and return to place their trust in him again.

New mom, Kelsey, shared, “Knowing we share the same beginning made it even more meaningful. It’s a story I can’t wait to tell Eloise one day.”

The Impact of Continuity of Care

That level of continuity is rare. Parents and families return here because the care is strong, skilled and close to home.

As part of Covenant Health LeConte, the Dolly Parton Birthing Center blends advanced technology with a welcoming, hometown feel. Private rooms, modern tools and experienced teams provide safety and comfort for families.

“I have now been a witness on many occasions to multiple generations in a family. It’s humbling to have been a part of that,” says Dr. Love. “The God who called us here has been abundantly faithful, and I am grateful I get to do what I was called for and in the place I am supposed to be.”

Where Expertise Meets Compassion

Kelsey felt supported by Dr. Love and the labor and delivery team every step of the way. Nurses explained what mattered. Doctors listened. The team moved with confidence and warmth.

“I felt surrounded by people who truly cared,” Kelsey said, “I was supported the entire time. Everyone explained what was happening and made sure I was comfortable.”

That kind of care builds trust. It turns a medical moment into a meaningful memory.

Where Family Stories Continue

While medicine and technology have advanced over time, the foundation remains the same: skilled providers, supportive nurses and teams who understand how much these moments matter.

When Kelsey’s mom, Melanie, welcomed her daughter 27 years ago, it marked an important part of their family’s story. Watching Eloise arrive into the same trusted hands felt like the perfect next chapter.

Melanie shared the impact of that moment, saying, “I once held my baby for the very first time, and now I get to watch my daughter do the same. That kind of moment stays with you forever.”

A Legacy That Continues

At Covenant Health LeConte, care is not transactional. It is relational.

From Melanie to Kelsey and baby Eloise, the Legacy of Love is delivered through expert hands, advanced care and a community hospital that feels like home.
