Amputee Rehabilitation

Physical therapists help patients prepare for surgery and regain strength, movement and function after surgery.

Astym® Treatment

Astym® regenerates healthy soft tissue and eliminates or reduces scar tissue that may be causing pain or loss of motion. It is frequently prescribed for athletes, “weekend warriors,” post-surgical patients and chronic pain sufferers.

Cancer Rehab

We work with cancer patients and cancer survivors to address post-operative limitations, energy conservation, home modification, and ways to make daily activities easier while undergoing cancer treatment.

Covenant Health Therapy Center-West Knoxville is designated as a prestigious Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORI) Center of Excellence. It is the first clinic in East Tennessee to receive this designation and one of only two in the state. Individualized therapy programs are tailored to each patient’s needs, working to ease the side effects of chemotherapy, lessen fatigue, enhance mobility, reduce swelling and relieve pain. Therapy focuses especially on patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments for various forms of cancer affecting critical areas such as the breast, lung, head, neck, pelvic region and lower extremities.

Certified Hand Therapy

Certified hand therapists provide the highest level of competency and skill in the treatment of hands and upper extremities to assure maximum recovery.

Dizziness/Vertigo

We offer an exercise-based approach aimed at eliminating or minimizing imbalance and dizziness associated with vestibular (inner ear) disorders.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use for the treatment of pain and movement impairments. It uses a small, solid needle, called a “dry” needle, in conjunction with other PT treatments.

Headaches

Our therapists specialize in treatment of cervicogenic headaches, or headaches caused specifically by tightness in the neck muscles.

LSVT BIG and LOUD

This unique therapy exaggerates body motion and speech to help minimize impairments caused by Parkinson’s disease.

Lymphedema Treatment Program

This specialized therapy reduces swelling caused by lymphedema, with a focus on maintaining healthy skin and preventive measures to reduce the risk of ongoing lymphedema.

Manual Therapy

Therapists may use skilled hand movements on joints and soft tissue to improve tissue extensibility, increase range of motion, induce relaxation, modulate pain or reduce swelling.

McKenzie Method

The McKenzie Method provides superior functional outcomes for the back, neck, and extremity problems. The method emphasizes education and active patient involvement to quickly decrease pain, restore normal function, prevent a recurrence and minimize the need for other medical interventions.

Occupational Therapy

Our highly certified and experienced occupational therapists work with patients to improve basic motor skills and function, and to compensate for any permanent loss as a result of illness or injury.

Pelvic Health (Men and Women)

Pelvic health encompasses issues of the gastrointestinal, urologic, gynecologic, and musculoskeletal disorders surrounding the pelvis. Treatment helps improve function and limit pain associated with these systems in the body.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy focuses on improving speech, language, swallowing and related cognitive abilities.

TMJ Dysfunction

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction can limit natural jaw function such as chewing and talking, and can cause pain. Treatment helps ease pain, regain normal jaw movement and lessen daily stress on the jaw.
