Our Hiring Process


Step 1: Apply

The first step of the hiring process is finding a role and submitting an application. Apply today!

Step 2: Interviews

A recruiter will contact you to start the interview process. Be prepared to discuss your skills and experiences. This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about us. We encourage you to ask questions about job requirements, the type of work you would be expected to do, and your team. Upon completion of the interview process, we will determine if an offer will be extended to you.

Step 3: Offer Process

The hiring manager and interviewers will make the final hiring decision. Applicants who are interviewed will be notified once the recruiting process has concluded, and the top candidate will receive an offer. Upon acceptance of our offer, your recruiter will help you coordinate your start date and you will be contacted by a Staffing Coordinator to walk you through the next steps.

Step 4: Pre-Employment Testing

All offers are contingent on successfully completing the onboarding process, which includes a background screening, health screen, drug test and other job-related requirements.

Step 5: Start

Welcome to the Covenant Health team! Upon your start date, you will attend New Employee Orientation. If you have any questions along The Hiring Process, please contact your Recruiter or Staffing Coordinator.

Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is comprised of both Critical Care beds and overflow beds in the Intermediate Care Unit. With small nurse-to-patient ratios, our staff is able to give our critically ill patients the best possible care. The staff strives to create a warm and welcoming team environment that cultivates healing for the patients and their families.

Intermediate Care Unit

With small nurse-to-patient ratios, the Intermediate Care Unit staff at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is able to give our critically ill patients the best possible care.

Emergency Department

Our Emergency Department is equipped with the latest technology, including computerized patient tracking, Radiology Services inside the ER and easy access to Surgery, Intensive Care and other vital areas of the hospital. We are equipped with the only Heart Cath Labs in the Lakeway Area. The Emergency Department is also the area’s only Designated General Pediatric Emergency Facility, offering specialized equipment and advanced training and certification in caring for emergencies involving children.

Labor and Delivery Unit

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has been named a “Best for Babies” hospital by the Tennessee Hospital Association and Tennessee State Department of Health. The Women’s Center at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System provides comprehensive, family-centered care with labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) suites. The experienced staff is trained to care for a wide variety of patients ranging from normal labor to high-risk mothers.

Surgery Center

The Surgery Center at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System is comprised of surgery suites and GI specialty suites. Our team of surgical experts has access to the latest technology and performs thousands of inpatient and outpatient procedures each year. The Surgery staff is comprised of RNs, CSTs, and CNAs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

2 South Surgery Unit

The 2nd floor Surgery Unit is a 21-bed unit serving the surgical population including orthopedic, gynecological, general and urological surgery patients. This unit also cares for postpartum patients who room with their newborns. Our team is comprised of RNs, CNAs, PCAs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

3 South Pediatric/Stroke/Medical Surgical Unit

This unit generally serves our stroke or stroke rule-out patients, and often has a large geriatric population. Our team is comprised of RNs, CNAs, PCAs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

3 North Medical/Surgical Unit

The 3rd floor Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients with a range of orthopedic surgeries and repairs, multi-unit cardiac telemetry monitoring, as well as caring for compromised cancer patients. This unit functions at a very high level and is a fast-paced environment. Our team is comprised of RNs, CNAs, PCAs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

4 South Medical Unit

The 4th floor Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit provides care to complex patients and diverse patient populations. Our team is comprised of RNs, CNAs, PCAs and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care. Whether you are looking to start your career as an RN, CNA or HUC or have years of experience, our medical unit is a team you’d be proud to call your work family.

Nursing Student Opportunities

The Student Nurse Associate (SNA) positions offered at Covenant Health offer invaluable hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world healthcare settings. To qualify for this position, you must be in your junior or senior year of study in a registered nursing program and have either completed the fundamental clinical skills portion of the program or be scheduled to finish it within the same semester of employment.
