William Hall, MD, Named New Medical Director of Methodist Wound Treatment Center

The Methodist Wound Treatment Center is excited to announce the appointment of William Hall, MD as its new medical director.  Earlier this year, Dr. Hall assumed the role previously held by David Stanley, MD, who remains on staff in a part-time capacity.

Dr. Stanley was the center’s first medical director when it opened in 2006 and has been a leading force in making it a premier wound healing facility with expanded hyperbaric oxygen therapy capabilities.

“I’m so grateful for the patient interactions I’ve had and the amazing wound healing recoveries I’ve witnessed over these last 17 years,” said Dr. Stanley.  “It truly has been a blessing and although I’m ready to reduce my schedule, I look forward to continuing to contribute to our center’s important work.”

Dr. Hall steps into this new role after retiring from his cardiovascular surgical practice in February.  As a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Hall started Methodist Medical Center’s cardiovascular surgery program in 1989 and performed the majority of the hospital’s 8,200 open heart procedures.

“This might not seem like the typical retirement by most people’s standards, but continuing to provide people with more birthdays, anniversaries and moments with loved ones is my ultimate joy,” said Dr. Hall. “It’s the best part of being a physician and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue serving this community through the Wound Treatment Center.”

For physicians, the Methodist Wound Treatment Center serves as an adjunct to their practice and a specialized tool.  For patients with complex or chronic wounds, the center can make an enormous difference in their quality of life.
