Covenant Health CMO Honored by Becker’s Hospital Review

Mandy Halford, MD, Named to “130 CMOs to Know” List

September 2023 – Mandy Halford, MD, was recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of “130 Hospital and Health System Chief Medical Officers to Know.” Dr. Halford has served as the chief medical officer since June 2023, in addition to her previous responsibilities as Covenant Health’s senior vice president and chief medical informatics officer.

Becker’s Hospital Review, a publication focusing on hospital business news for healthcare executives, note that chief medical officers included on the list “ensure that patients receive the safest and most effective care possible.”

Dr. Halford’s responsibilities as chief medical officer include leading clinical operations, overseeing service lines and working on quality improvement initiatives for the health system. She also plays an integral role in developing clinical protocols, overseeing medical staff affairs and the graduate medical education program.

Dr. Halford earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds a clinical informatics certification from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
