After the loss of their twenty-week old child Bryson James Flynn in 2019, the Flynn family has honored his precious memory by donating a Cradle Cot to the Maternity department of Cumberland Medical Center in hopes of comforting others who may experience a similar loss.
The Cradle Cot is especially equip with a cooling feature that gives families a special “gift of time” during bereavement of infants 20 weeks gestation through one year of age.
Donna Flynn expressed, “It is our prayer that this cradle never be used, unfortunately it will. We pray that the families who accept this gift feel God’s love and lean into His grace for peace and understanding.”
The cot displays a plaque honoring Bryson James Flynn & all babies nestled in the arms of Jesus with scripture Philippians 4:7 which reads:
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
As a member of Covenant Health, the donation was coordinated through the Covenant Health Office of Philanthropy Development Manager Jennifer Sheehan who shared, “Mrs. Flynn and her family haven’t just given from their heart — it’s from their soul, too. We treasure the gift of time they have made possible for those who face similar circumstances at CMC.”
