The Becker’s list highlights hospitals across the country that excel in nurse-patient communication. This key component of quality care is measured through the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. These scores reflect how well nurses communicate with patients. Aspects such as listening carefully, explaining clearly and demonstrating courtesy and respect are evaluated.
