Certified Surgical Technologist earns hospital’s top honor

What better way to start the day than with a surprise presentation celebrating a team member who has been recognized from across Methodist Medical Center as its Employee (MMCer) of the Year! Congratulations to Katherine Tucker who has been with Methodist since 2020 and is one of MMC’s amazing Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs).

As a CST, Katherine is a critical part of the surgery team, providing support in all areas of the operating room – from preparation before procedures to assisting the physicians and nurses involved in the cases. Start to finish, a CST is vital to all aspects of the surgery experience.

“Katherine is such a tremendous asset to our surgical services team,” said Jacque Alt, MBA, RN, Methodist Medical Center’s Chief Nursing Officer. “She may be quiet and unassuming, but she is a powerhouse in all that she does for her patients and her teammates. She exemplifies what right looks like in healthcare and we are so lucky to have her as a part of our work family.”

The “MMCer of the Year” honor represents a significant achievement around clinical excellence and patient care, as well as all the elements of great teamwork. We applaud Katherine for her work ethic and for her dedication to her patients and her colleagues.
