Bridget Frazier, RN, Honored with DAISY Award

A nurse at Parkwest Medical Center was honored recently with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the family of a patient who had received extraordinary care and compassion from his nurses during his final days.

Congratulations to Bridget, a nurse in our Emergency Department, for being recognized with the DAISY award. Bridget was nominated by a patient’s husband, and you can read her full nomination below:

“I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the outstanding job done by the staff at Parkwest Hospital, especially Bridget. I am not from the area, and when my wife, Traci, had a difficult manic episode while visiting family in Maryville, I was faced with a challenging situation.

Bridget was instrumental in making our ER visit more manageable. Her understanding, compassion, and respect towards my wife during her crisis were truly exceptional. It is an understatement to say that Bridget’s approach stood out.

After the initial chaos, Bridget turned her attention to me, providing clear and professional communication about the next steps and encouraging me to reach out with any questions. My wife, Traci, is an RN in our hometown, and I am certain she will also commend Bridget and the entire staff at Parkwest Hospital for the remarkable care they provided.

I cannot express enough gratitude for treating us like family and making this challenging experience as painless as possible. Thank you for your outstanding work.”
