At Parkwest Medical Center, compassionate care is more than a standard—it’s a calling. Kenya, a member of the care team on 4M, exemplifies this commitment each day through her kindness, positivity, and unwavering support for patients and colleagues alike.
Kenya’s Nomination
Kenya was nominated for the BEE Award by both a patient’s family member and a fellow team member, each recognizing the meaningful difference she makes through her actions and attitude.
One nomination highlighted Kenya’s consistent presence at the bedside, noting how her caring demeanor and encouraging words brought comfort during a difficult time. Whether she was offering assistance before being asked or simply walking into the room with a smile, Kenya created a sense of reassurance that helped ease the stress of hospitalization.
During a particularly challenging moment, Kenya responded quickly and compassionately to assist with an unexpected situation, working alongside a fellow team member to provide care with professionalism, dignity, and calm reassurance. Her ability to step in without hesitation and offer support in a respectful and comforting way left a lasting impression on the family.
Another nomination, submitted by a colleague, recognized Kenya’s positive spirit and the energy she brings to the unit each day. Known for her patience, resilience, and uplifting attitude, she consistently approaches every situation—no matter how busy or demanding—with a smile. Her presence helps foster a supportive environment for both patients and her coworkers.
“Kenya without fail every time I came to 4M has a smile on her face and the attitude and patience of a saint,” the nomination reads. “Whatever comes her way, she takes with a smile. She brings joy to the unit, and 4M and Covenant are lucky to have her on their team.”

More About the BEE Award
The BEE Award (Being Exceptional Every Day) recognizes non-nursing team members who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care and service. Kenya’s dedication, compassion, and team-focused mindset make her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
RNs and LPNs are eligible for The DAISY Award—because a DAISY can’t thrive without a BEE, and a BEE can’t thrive without a DAISY. Together, these programs celebrate the teamwork that makes exceptional care possible.
Please join us in congratulating Kenya for her commitment to putting patients first every day.
