Reasons You Might See a Pulmonologist

You may need to see a pulmonologist if you’re experiencing any of these symptoms:

  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Cough that doesn’t improve over time
  • Dizziness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sleep apnea (extreme tiredness or loud snoring)
  • Wheezing

During your time with us, you may need testing to help with diagnosis and treatment of your respiratory condition. We commonly perform:

  • Blood analysis
  • Bronchoscopy (use of a bronchoscope to look into your windpipe and lungs)
  • Chest X-ray or computed tomography (CT) scan
  • Pulmonary function test (determines how well your lungs work by measuring how much air goes into and out of your lungs, how much air goes from your lungs to your blood, and how well your lungs work during exercise)
  • Sleep studies
  • Spirometry (measuring how much air goes into and out of your lungs while you breathe)

We ask that you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Please bring the following items with you to your visit:

  • Your current health insurance information 

  • Your current Photo ID

  • Any medications you are currently taking in their original containers or in a list with dosages and times

Please note: In order to provide efficient care for all of our patients, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you do not arrive at least 30 minutes early.

Prescription Refills

It’s very important that you request your prescription refills during normal business hours before 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Prescriptions will not be refilled on weekends or holidays.
