About Me
Dr. Mallard was born and raised in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where he discovered at a young age that he wanted to become a dentist. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2009 with a degree of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Prior to dental school, Dr. Mallard participated in a dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic where his love for dentistry, helping people, and sharing the Gospel grew. After completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UTHSC in Memphis in 2014, he went on to work at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. While on staff, Dr. Mallard primarily treated medically complex children and adults with special healthcare needs. It was there that he realized his passion for treating children, and he went on to pursue a 2-year residency program at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas to specialist in the treatment of pediatric and special needs children. Dr. Mallard is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, allowing him to stay up-to-date in the most relevant evidence-based practice techniques. Dr. Mallard has obtained a specialty license to treat children in Tennessee and is currently completing his requirement to become a board-certified pediatric dentist. He and his wife, Alaina, have one son, Hayes, a daughter Emmalyn and a golden retriever, Beckham. He enjoys all sports and outdoor activities and is excited to root on the Vols this upcoming season. While at the dental office, Dr. Mallard strives to provide a fun, upbeat environment while treating everyone like family. Dr. Mallard is thankful for the opportunity to move back to East Tennessee to do what he loves and to call it “home” once again.
