About Me

Dr. Ramanujan Samavedy is a native of India, where he earned an MBBS, the equivalent of a Doctor of Medicine (MD), at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry University in 1992. Dr. Samavedy established the endoscopic ultrasound services at University of Tennessee Medical Center and served as the medical director of endoscopy for seven years. He also served as an integral part of the UT Cancer Institute as a tumor board member to develop evaluation algorithms for GI cancers, help establish the liver and pancreas cancer service line, provide therapeutic endoscopy service and teach and give rounds for residents. He practices the full spectrum of gastroenterology care with additional special interest in GI cancers, as well as diseases of the colon, esophagus, stomach, pancreas and bile duct.
