About Me
Dr. Narayani immigrated to the United States with his family shortly after his birth in Bombay, India. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he completed undergraduate degrees in chemistry and computer science. He remained at Vanderbilt after his admission to the School of Medicine to earn his medical doctorate degree. He then began active duty military service in the U.S. Air Force, during which he completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas. He served as an academic gastroenterologist at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis AFB, California, for four years before joining GIA in 2005. Aside from general gastroenterology, his professional interests include video capsule endoscopy of the small bowel and advanced endoscopic treatment of Barrett’s esophagus. He has participated in clinical research on both subjects. Since joining GIA, he also has championed the selection and implementation of the computerized health record system that is currently used in the practice. He has spoken at national meetings on the subject of electronic medical record integration and has published a review on this important subject.
