Matthew Edwards, MD

Dr. Matthew D. Edwards is a general surgeon with Surgical Associates of East Tennessee in Morristown, TN. He is from Knoxville and completed his undergraduate and medical school in South Carolina. He returned to East TN for general surgery residency at UT Knoxville. He has an interest in minimally invasive gallbladder, hernia, and gastrointestinal surgery, as well as endoscopy. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys playing guitar, hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with his family. “It is a privilege for me to be able to serve the people of East TN. I find fixing my patients’ medical problems to be immensely rewarding and will work to help my patients in any way I can.”
