Knoxville Heart Group Welcomes Rachel Goodwin, DO
August 2025 – Covenant Health and Covenant Medical Group are pleased to welcome Rachel Goodwin, DO, to Knoxville Heart Group’s Downtown Knoxville location. Dr. Goodwin specializes in structural interventional cardiology. Her clinical interests include structural and valvular heart disease, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, left atrial appendage occlusion, mitral and tricuspid valve procedures, transcatheter electrosurgery, coronary artery disease, complex and high-risk coronary procedures, chronic total occlusion interventions, adult congenital procedures, and women’s heart health.
Dr. Goodwin earned her medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. She completed an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Dr. Goodwin is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
When not at work, Dr. Goodwin enjoys macramé, reading, traveling, hiking, Peloton cycling, board games and spending time with her family.
