DAISY Award Winner: Natasha Logan, RN

A nurse at Parkwest Medical Center recently received The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the “superhuman” efforts nurses give every day.

Congratulations to Natasha Logan, a nurse in the Emergency Department. Natasha was nominated by a patient for the care and compassion she was shown during her visit to the ER.

Natasha’s Nomination

“I had to go to the ER due to severe excruciating back pain, that I would come to find out is a herniated disk. Immediately, Natasha was comforting and did not make me feel bad or embarrassed about peeing so much that the catheter suction machine didn’t catch it all and I had to be cleaned up. She was on top of everything and when my husband and I were speaking to her about my prior medical history, including a very recent fertility procedure, she opened up and shared that she and her husband had used our same doctor and briefly shared about fertility journey and encouraged us to keep hope through the process.

That meant so much to us, as we experienced a miscarriage earlier this year and have had no luck naturally conceiving since so now, we are going through a second round of IUI. Natasha was comforting and encouraging. She helped my fear subside because I was terrified about what was happening with my back. She went above and beyond and works so hard. She deserves to be recognized. We cannot thank her enough.”
