September 2025 – Covenant Health and Covenant Medical Group are pleased to welcome Covenant Health Primary Care Belltown, a primary care practice located in the Powell/Karns areas of Knoxville. The location opened Sept. 4, 2025.
Covenant Health Primary Care Belltown provides comprehensive and continuous family care across all stages of life, from newborns to geriatric patients. Services include annual physical exams and preventive care, acute illness treatment, chronic disease management, immunizations and lifestyle medicine counseling. The practice is led by Courtney Halista, MD.
Dr. Halista’s philosophy of care is treating the whole person, not just symptoms. To her patients, Dr. Halista says, “My goal is simple: To keep you healthy and minimize the burden of disease in your life. I believe that most health conditions can be effectively managed or even reversed through thoughtful lifestyle changes, and I’m here to guide and support you on that journey.”
Dr. Halista earned her medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her family medicine residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. Dr. Halista completed the National Institute for Program Director Development Fellowship through the Association of Family Medicine Program Directors in addition to her prior completion of a faculty development fellowship at the University of California – San Francisco.
Dr. Halista is board-certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. She is an active member in many professional organizations, including the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians, and the Society and Teachers of Family Medicine.
