Michael’s Nominations

“Michael takes immense pride and ownership in his quality of work and has made a tremendous impact on the patients he serves as well as staff. Michael recognized early on the need for ancillary support within the post-op patient population specifically surrounding early mobilization. Michael took the initiative and offered to alter his scheduled hours to better align with the needs of those identified as post-operative patients. This commitment to serving patients made a tremendous impact on the overall outcomes due to early mobilization. Peers as well as physician partners have commented on the commitment made to improved post-operative outcomes and Michael has essentially owned and spearheaded this initiative. Michael consistently works through challenges while always remaining positive and lighthearted which impacts and leads the overall desired culture. Michael does not stop there. He recently offered to pick up additional shifts as a patient care assistant further assisting the floor with patient care activities outside his normal day-to-day function.”

“My dad was in the hospital last week because of a bad fall. He is 100 years old and was on 2 Dogwood. I cannot say enough about Michael. I know that Michael has many patients and gives them his undivided attention. He is patient, caring and was so helpful with my dad. He encouraged him after having a bad fall. My dad really appreciated his help and wanted me to thank him in some way. Being in the hospital for week, I could tell he enjoyed his job by the way he treated everyone. My dad is very hard of hearing and he worked hard to ensure he was able to hear everything. Michael is a huge asset to Parkwest and I am grateful for the evening shifts on that floor.”
