Originally from India, Dr. Doddabele received his medical degree form Karnatak Medical College (Karnatak Institute of Medical Science), where later he completed an internship. Upon arriving in the U.S., he completed a residency in internal medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee where he also completed his fellowship. Dr. Doddabele completed a bone marrow transplant fellowship at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a genitourinary and lymphoma fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He also completed a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in hematology and medical oncology. Dr. Doddabele is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
