Astym® Treatment

Astym® is a safe, highly effective treatment that often works when other treatments have failed. One advantage is that it targets the cause of the problem rather than simply relieving symptoms. Astym® treatments address both scar tissue and degenerative muscle tissue. The body’s soft tissues degenerate when inadequate healing has occurred.

Over time, degenerated tissues become weak and prone to injury. Degeneration can be caused by many factors including age, intense use, improper movement, weakened muscles putting stress on other tissues, etc.

Scarring can happen inside the body around joints, muscles, tendons and/or ligaments. The body naturally scars in response to irritation, overuse, injury, sprains/strains or surgery. The fibrous, strong scar tissue is meant to reinforce an area but, often ends up restricting movement and causing pain.
