Amy DeLong, CPA, has served as Vice President and Controller of Financial Services for Covenant Health since January 2024. Her responsibilities include corporate accounting and financial reporting, accounts payable and payroll, tax services, asset management, and revenue/reimbursement analysis.

Amy joined Covenant Health in October 2018 where she has served as Director of Tax for five years. She led her team in coordinating various tax and information filings for over 20 entities, tax research and planning for the health system’s tax-exempt organizations and for-profit affiliates, and financial analyses for strategic partnerships. Amy has overseen Covenant Health’s payroll team and recently served as an integral team member for the conversion to a new payroll system. She is currently a key leader for the health system’s organizational improvement initiatives.

Prior to joining Covenant Health, Amy worked for twenty years for PYA, PC. She was a leader in PYA’s healthcare tax services team and enjoyed serving the firm’s healthcare clients, including Covenant Health. While at PYA, Amy specialized in tax issues related to tax-exempt organizations, deferred compensation plans, IRS representation, and planning for mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and joint ventures. She was a national speaker at the American Health Lawyers Association’s healthcare tax conference as well as at various other conferences throughout her career.

Amy earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Tennessee. She has been a Certified Public Accountant for over 25 years. She has served as treasurer for several local non-profit organizations and currently serves on the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Women in Leadership Program. Her passion is working with non-profit organizations, and she is excited to continue serving at Covenant Health with team members who are committed to the organization’s mission of providing and improving health care for all patients within the communities we serve.
