Eligibility Criteria for Bariatric Surgery
Bariatric surgery can often benefit individuals who are struggling with weight loss or those with health conditions caused by being overweight and have been unable to lose weight through other methods. You are considered overweight if you:
- Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 35
- Are experiencing severe negative health effects related to obesity, such as high blood pressure or diabetes
- Cannot achieve a healthy body weight for a sustained period of time, even through medically supervised dieting
We invite you to take this brief self-assessment to learn if you may be a candidate for bariatric surgery. Please note that final eligibility for weight loss surgery must be determined by a physician.
