Lenoir City, Tenn. – August 2025–– Fort Loudoun Medical Center has once again earned a 5-star Overall Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This marks its third consecutive year receiving this honor. It is one of only four hospitals in Tennessee to achieve a 5-star rating this year.

The CMS uses publicly reported data to determine the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating on a scale of one to five annually. To do so, the organization looks at 46 hospital quality measures. These are broken into five areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.

Scores are calculated by taking the weighted average of the scores of each category. The mortality, safety of care, readmission, and patient experience categories are each weighted at 22 percent. Timely and effective care is weighted at 12 percent.

“We are honored to once again be recognized among the nation’s top-performing hospitals,” said Connie Martin, president and chief administrative officer of Fort Loudoun Medical Center. “This achievement reflects the unwavering dedication of our entire team who work together every day to deliver exceptional, compassionate care to the people of this community.”

This recognition comes as Fort Loudoun Medical Center prepares to open The Brethen Foundation Advanced Care Wing. This expansion will enhance patient care with 26 private patient rooms, advanced technology, and improved comfort. The new wing strengthens the hospital’s ability to deliver high-quality, specialized care close to home.
