Mandy’s Nomination

“My husband had open heart surgery at Parkwest in April, and now we can see first-hand why they have such a great reputation. In addition to the great surgeons and nursing staff, the cardiac rehab department has a gem by the name of Mandy. Her kindness, compassion, and knowledge make her a real asset to this great team. She helped my husband in his agility to move and function. She answered each of our questions with patience and authority. She educated us on the importance of moving as quickly after surgery as possible. She helped my husband improve his strength and, though often he was reluctant, helped him to understand the importance of finding that inner strength to persevere.

Mandy has showed us, through her personal testimony, of how important it is for cardiac health to exercise, eat right and manage a healthy weight. Her ability to encourage my husband was so inspirational the last thing he felt like doing was to walk around the halls, but she has that wonderful gift of motivating people. Her role was such an important part of getting my husband ready to go home and live a healthier lifestyle.”
