Prenatal Ultrasound

Prenatal ultrasound allows you and your doctor to monitor the growth of your baby and the progress of your body’s readiness for birth. Most women have three to four ultrasounds during pregnancy, usually on this schedule:

  • At 7 weeks to confirm uterine pregnancy and determine the baby’s due date.
  • At 13 weeks to evaluate possible genetic problems.
  • At 20 weeks for detailed anatomy evaluation. This also is the time when the gender can be discovered if you wish to know in advance of giving birth.

As an added service, the 20-week ultrasound also will be reviewed by our high-risk pregnancy partners.

Additional studies may be scheduled, depending on your unique needs.
