Former VP is Named Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Informatics Officer  

Knoxville, Tenn. – April 2021 – Mandy Grubb Halford, MD, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief medical informatics officer at Covenant Health after serving for several years as vice president and CMIO. Her health system responsibilities include providing medical leadership for information technology in the areas of strategic planning, organization change management, process redesign, clinical informatics and innovation.

Dr. Halford recently led the implementation of an electronic health records system across Covenant Health and continues to oversee and enhance the system’s capabilities. She is currently a key leader for the health system’s recently announced tele-ICU strategy.

Dr. Halford began practicing medicine at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville in 2009 and was named chief medical officer at CMC in 2013. After Cumberland Medical Center joined Covenant Health, she was named the health system’s medical director of clinical documentation and informatics in 2015.

Dr. Halford earned her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, also from the University of Tennessee. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine Clinical Informatics.
