Hope Center Relocates

The Hope Center has moved! We are now located at the Covenant HomeCare Building in West Knoxville at the crossroads of Middlebrook Pike and Lake Brook Blvd.

We make every effort to provide a context for hope through advocating, educating and addressing the individual needs of those affected by HIV and other life-altering illnesses.

The Hope Center’s journey began in 1996 for people who are affected and infected by HIV. The original home for the Hope Center was on 7North of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The program has adapted to the ever changing needs of the HIV community and therefore has moved to the new space off Lake Brook Blvd in West Knoxville. The Hope Model of care created in 1996 continues to be the essence of care for the Center’s services.

The Hope Center provides, at no charge, caring support and assistance to all individuals and families living with HIV. Inpatients, outpatients, people relocating to this area or newly diagnosed individuals have a safe, non-stigmatizing place to feel encouraged, valued, and also have a voice. Calls to Hope Center are made by patients, physicians, staff, community hospitals, or agencies.

Introducing Lori Gibbs

Lori received her degree in psychology from UT and has spent the bulk of her career at the Knox County Health Department. During that time she provided testing and treatment referrals for positive STD/HIV individuals as well as partner notification services. For the past 14 years she has been the lead medical case manager and program coordinator for the Ryan White Services for the Centers of Excellence within the Health Department.

With 18 years of experience, Lori is committed to helping the HIV-infected community achieve success and live healthy lives, and she is excited about joining the Hope Center and Covenant Health. Lori will have a tremendous ability to make a positive impact at the Hope Center by linking clients to care, providing community education and improving the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS.

In addition to her work, Lori enjoys family time with her husband Greg, daughters Kaitlyn and Morganne, and as she says, “the German Shepherds that run the house,” Daisy and Lily. She also enjoys reading, cooking and walking.
