Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer among American men with over 160,000 new cases estimated to be diagnosed this year, according to the American Cancer Society. When faced with prostate cancer, it is important to know all of your options and work with your physician to discuss what treatment is best for you.
Join Oak Ridge’s newest urologist Dr. Michael Douglas at Health Night on the Town on Tuesday, September 26 as he discusses the risk factors, symptoms and treatment options for prostate cancer. The program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Ridge Conference Room of Methodist Medical Center, located at 990 Oak Ridge Turnpike. The program is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
Dr. Douglas received his medical degree from the Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN. He completed a urologic surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Kennedy University Hospital, Stratford, NJ and a urologic surgery residency at the Rowan University – Kennedy University Hospital. Dr. Douglas is in practice with Tennessee Urology Associates in Oak Ridge.
Health Night on the Town is an ongoing medical lecture series presented by physicians and other healthcare professionals. It is free and open to the public. Programs are typically held the last Tuesday of each month except June, July, November and December. For more information about Health Night on the Town, please call (865) 835-4662.
