FLAME Award Winner – Mark Brock

FLAME award winner Mark Brock, respiratory therapist, was working with a patient he had come to know as the patient neared the end of his life. With patients who visit our facility frequently, our staff often form strong bonds with them and their families. Knowing the patient was not doing well, Mark went beyond his normal duties as a respiratory therapist one evening to keep his patient comfortable as the patient waited to see his family. Sadly, the patient passed before his family could get there, but Mark stayed with his patient until he passed so he was not alone during this time. We celebrate Mark’s compassion for this patient and his family throughout their time at the hospital, and we thank Mark for providing the best care possible to all of his patients.
