FLAME Award Winner – Cynthia Ruble

Cynthia Ruble receiving her FLAME AwardOur employees often go beyond the call of duty to care for patients and families. One of our latest FLAME Award recipients Cynthia Ruble is no exception. Cynthia works in registration for our ambulatory infusion center, and she went beyond her job duties to help a patient receive the treatment she needed.

The patient contacted our ambulatory infusion center for an appointment but decided the treatment was too expensive. Cynthia took it upon herself to contact the patient’s insurance company to work out how to get the patient what she needed. Cynthia called the patient back a few days later to let her know that she had worked with the insurance company to get the treatment covered. The patient was extremely grateful to Cynthia and beyond impressed with the care she received at Fort Sanders Regional. Thank you for making a difference in this patient’s life, Cynthia!

The FLAME Award was created by FSRMC’s Patient Family Partnership Council in 2018 to recognize our non-nurse employees who have gone above and beyond to improve the hospital experience for our patients and their family members. To nominate an extraordinary staff member, click here.
